Pretty Perth
Perth is stunning and a must-see city to visit while in Australia. The beaches are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Throughout the week of being in Perth, only one day had clouds in the sky. Every day was over 27+ Celsius weather.
The location of our place was fantastic. A lot was going on just out front of our condo. One night they had a night market and one-afternoon there was a Brazilian market with singers, food stands and dancing. If we were not entertained by all of the surfers or the kite surfers in the massive waves, we had the markets and the people watching to keep us entertained.
Each morning we would wake up, walk along the beach and watch the surfers and retirees swim in the waves. Of course, stopping along the way to grab ourselves a latte. We got addicted to the thick/oily coconut milk lattes that are probably 1000 calories, but so worth it. When you are multiplying in size, you keep going, ha. After coming from Melbourne, which has some of the best food we have ever eaten then over to Perth. We must admit, the food wasn't cutting it here.
Our best friend, Jason Butler (we call him Butler) came for a three-day visit from Bali (only a 2.5-hour flight). We enjoyed having a new face in our lives as you could imagine how dull Chris and I's conversations are starting to get after spending 1.5 months together straight. With Butler, we had a lovely picnic together at the Botanic Gardens with the kidlets. In the evening we got a babysitter and went out for dinner and drinks. We found a hidden all Rum Bar located down a sketchy ally where you need a password from Instagram to get you inside. The drinks were just as good as the scene of this place which was super cool. One of the days we went to the beach, and holy-dina was it ever hot. Probably the hottest experience at a beach in our lives. It was about 36 degrees Celsius, and we didn't have an umbrella or anything for our kids so you could only imagine how long we lasted there.
We have now managed to have seven dates in the past month and a half with all good/trustworthy babysitters. During our date In Perth, we changed things up for one of our dates and rented bikes and peddled around the Fremantle area. Fremantle serves as a Port in Perth.
Jada and Cruz got to touch a Koala at the Wildlife farm just outside of Perth. This was a cool experience being right up close to a Koala. Jada was utterly freaked out by it. However, Cruz seemed quite mesmerized. We also got to hang out with the Kangaroos. Jada enjoyed feeding them and didn't seem scared of Kangaroos like the Koalas. I enjoyed watching Joey's breastfeed. We had quite a bond over this. We even saw a Joey in the pouch of its mother. So Cute!
Overall Perth exceeded our expectations and are happy we took the four-hour flight and dealt with the three hour time change to see this beautiful part of Australia.
Love The Joneses,
XOXO
