Day Trip to Monaco, France
In just 20 minutes you can get to Monaco by train! We packed up and headed there for the day. The train ride was a fun experience with two levels and a view of the ocean the entire time.
Once arrived we headed to the famous Monte-Carlo Casino to find out it was a 5 minute taxi ride given how small the city is (2 sq.km total). This renowned casino included a lot of criteria to enter, one in which was that men must be wearing a fedora-type hat and locals are not allowed to gamble here. After getting patted down by security to sit at the Cafe de Paris Monte Carlo next to the Casino we ordered some sandwiches and a large Mojito, forgetting I have two kids and will not be able to sit and watch the rich, the wannabe rich, the real rich and the gold diggers for more than 30 minutes.
The annual carnival on the water at the marina was a ton of fun for Jada. Chris and I would describe it as a clean, high-class mini Stampede. The MILFS outfits consisted of high-end purses, dresses and high heels. The toys to be won ranged from cell phone cases to mini dirt bikes and cars. You didn't have to pay an entrance free and once again to enter you got patted down by security.
Below are some stats on Monaco to help you understand more of unique this city indeed is:
* Monaco has a total population over 30,000 and a total land area of 2.02 sq. km. This makes it the most densely populated and the second smallest country in the world.
*Almost 30% of the population of Monaco was a millionaire in 2014
*Three of James Bond Films have been shot here in Monte-Carlo Casino. The Casino opened up in 1863.
*Monaco is a tax haven. The country survives solely on the revenue generated by its tourism and casinos.
*Fishes are the only natural resource the country has. However, the country has the world’s third-highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) nominal per capita at $115,700 (2015 est.) behind Liechtenstein and Qatar.
*The economy of this tiny nation is supported by the revenue generated from radio, television, and the casino and state monopolies on stamps and tobacco. Banking and financial activities also support the nation’s economy.
*The crime rate in Monaco is very low. This could mainly be because Monaco has more policemen per person than any other country with security cameras located throughout watching for crime.
*Did you know that Monaco almost has a zero unemployment rate? The country is also void of any poor people.
Chris can't wait to now see the Monte-Carlo Casino in another James Bond film after being there.
XOXO
